Township Council representative George Vitureira updated the club on the township budget and some of the issues related to it.

Club president Bruce Meringolo congratulated our primary winners Mead Briggs and Jerry Aroneo and thanked everyone for their efforts over the past few months for the great success achieved with our candidate nights.

Summer 2006

This summer we held our first club picnic at the Long Hill Seniors center. Over 50 people were in attendance to sample our gourmet hot dogs and hamburgers. Congressman Frelinghuysen stopped by along with Asm Bramnick and Munoz.

Overall everyone had a great time and the weather was spectacular. We are looking forward to next year when we can breakout our gloves and play softball!

Thanks go out to Tracy Aroneo for some great pictures! Check them out on the photos page.

September 2006

A brief meeting was held to discuss the upcoming fall campaigns. A township update was provided by George Vitureira and many in the audience showed their appreciation for his work to keep the municipal budget increase down to 3.1%.  After the meeting many took part in a cocktail at the legion bar and the political discussion continued along with a few golf lessons.

October 2006

A brief meeting was held prior to the town debate. Items discussed were the upcoming election, nominations committee activities, and the December Christmas Party. After the meeting everyone went to the library to listen to the debate.

November 2006

The November meeting was very positive with everyone feeling good after a very big win in the election.  Jerry and Mead thanked everyone for their support and we encourage everyone to attend the first township meeting in January to show continued support. The nominating committee put forth a slate of candidates for 2007 officer positions. See next month meeting page for details.  The committee also informally suggested that the second VP slot take on the role of fundraising and event activities for the club. Many were in agreement with that suggestion.

Discussion around 2007 activities took place with many ideas put on the table. The general feeling is that we want to build on the activities that took place in 2006 and add more that focus on community benefit such as fundraising.  After the meeting many lingered to discuss current events and retire to the legion bar for a few cocktails!

December 2006

The Christmas party was well attended and everyone enjoyed themselves late into the evening. The last to leave the legion bar was Dr. Vic so he wins the award for biggest partier!  Many thanks go out to Sue Dapkins and Pat Steger for arranging the food and setting up the event!

Happy Holidays!
